After your Mardi Gras strip for Blaster Nation, I was just curious to hear your opinions on feminism generally, if you don't mind?
Leslie and I both agree that feminism is as necessary as any other social rights movement, but we both think that extreme feminism that calls for the castration and destruction of the entire male sex should be dismissed as insane ramblings. I’m all for laying an equal foundation for all races and sex, but that should include ALL races and sex, whether you’re “privileged” or not.
Tumblr is really the worst kind of place to talk about these things, though, so I’d like to avoid going into our political and social views as much as possible.

Hi! Not sure if this is the place for this, since it's not even a question, but... THANKS! In case you're wondering what you did, discovering blaster nation some days ago snapped me out of losing interest in comic making and a hiatus on my own webcomic, as reading the whole thing straight from beginning to end remembered me the reason I started drawing them in the first place. Damn I almost get all emotive. Long story short: thanks!
We’ve been getting a surprising amount of comments and emails that have been pretty much just like that. “Thank you for inspiring me, lifting my depression, coping with the loss of my horse”. So many things just thanking us for making a comic! It feels AMAZING, but don’t thank us! We’re the ones who need to thank YOU for even reading it! If you feel inspired or less depressed from reading us, then we’re just doing our job, which you guys make possible.
Leslie’s baby-sitting her niece over at her parents’ house today, so I spent my Valentine’s Day at work all alone. But then I come home and see that Leslie sent me this thing she and her niece made for me

Food Fight was published by Viva Pictures, though it was handled by a bunch of different companies for like, almost ten years. Apparently, the film just fell off the map until Viva bought the rights to it at an auction with whatever change they had in their pocket.
And god, Video Brinquedo scare me too much to make me wanna sit down and watch. There was a special sort of awfulness that made Food Fight so extraordinarily bad, what with the overblown budget, odd celebrity cast, ridiculous product placement…I’m just afraid that Video Brinquedo would just be a typical boring knock-off.
Hey, Do you watch fighterpedia / scrublords? Cus' I feel like Salty Curt was based off Woolie? Or am I grasping at straws here?
Haha, we’ve had to answer this question like, a million times since Curt showed up. But nah, we’re fans of Two Best Friends, but we never knew what Woolie looked like. We hadn’t watched the Fighterpedia/Scrublord episodes that he appeared in until way later after Curt had appeared in the comic. So while we knew of Woolie and liked him, we didn’t intentionally make Curt to be Woolie.
Design-wise, we just wanted a big guy who wore a novelty gaming hat and looked really intimidating from the get-go despite his attire. Personality-wise, Sanford Kelly was actually our biggest inspiration.
