Now Playing Tracks

I've probably posited this before on a stream, but I'll ask again because I'm terrible. Podcasts, yay or nay? I know that I actually enjoy your opinions on the world of vidya games and web comics and I'm pretty sure a few others do too. (Then again this is still early in the life of the Brown Media Empire, so I understand any blurts of "Drew why are you so dumb?!")

Podcasts are something we REALLY want to do at some point. We’ve got lots of interesting stuff to talk about and lots of cool webcomic friends we can invite to chat with. The only reason we haven’t is because we’ve got so much other stuff to do. Hell, the reason we’re taking a break from streaming is because we’re trying really hard to get more comics finished.

Hopefully after the Kickstarter, we’ll have more time to do fun stuff like that. But until then, we’ve got to get our ass in gear.

And by get our ass in gear, I mean I have to make dumb youtube videos and answer tumblr asks while Leslie naps on the couch.

thedicksteel asked:

Say someone really loves your comics, Like Blaster Nation for example, and would want to maybe have voice actors read your comic., How would you describe how you hear the characters voices in your head?

Ah shit, we have too many characters to figure that out on our own and I have no idea how I would describe them in text.

If someone (hypothetically) REALLY wants to add voice to the comics, then they should totally do it so I can see how other people interpret what they think the characters would sound like because that’s super interesting to me.

zaghnol asked:

Just saw Pat and Liam's vid on Deception 4. Made me remember playing the first one on PlayStation and break it out again since I can understand it now. Are either of you a fan of the Deception series?

Deception has always intrigued me ever since I read about the PS1 game in some 90s issue of Playstation Magazine. It seemed like a wonderful mix of strategy and action, and I always wanted to play it but never did.

I wanted to get Deception 4, but man, I saw that Pat/Liam video too, and that doesn’t exactly look like a game worthy of $60. It looks FUN, don’t get me wrong, but it really looks like a budget title. I’m gonna have to wait until it goes down in price.

ianc14 asked:

Can I ask why did you get a PS4 just to play Ground Zeroes then trade it in? Could you have just got the PS3 version?

I could have, but for some reason, 60 FPS and 1080p resolution was worth $10 more plus the price of a used PS4. I intended to keep the PS4 after but man, I don’t got time to wait for games to come out, not when we got bills to pay.

Not my proudest moment of financial responsibility. I’m usually better at that, but I just fucking lose it when it comes to Metal Gear.

What do you think of anime getting turned into live action movies, like the Kenshin movie one or two years ago?

I didn’t actually see the Kenshin movie. Hell, I didn’t know there WAS a Kenshin movie.

I do totally remember the 1995 Fist of the North Star live-action movie. I remember it being really fucking boring, but I dunno, maybe I need to rewatch it and see if there’s any cheesy 90s goodness to appreciate.

I really don’t have much of an opinion on live-action anime movies. Chances are, I won’t be watching theme. I do REALLY hate American adaptations of Asian movies, though (barring Reservoir Dogs). There was no reason that Oldboy needed an American remake, especially one so stupid.

drunkenelfmage asked:

You have a chance to have the Life long monster partner of your choice (As in a monster from Pokemon, Digimon, or *sigh* Monster Rancher). Who would you pick and why? Go!

What the FUCK does that *sigh* mean, HUH.

Leslie put way too much thought into this question. While she likes Pokemon more, if she had to partner up with a monster, she’d rather one that could talk. So she picked Gabumon.

I choose Suezo. There was never any other option.

Hey there! First of all, I really feel the need to thank you guys for the Blaster Nation. Well, here comes the question, I have an idea for a webcomic, but I really suck at drawing, like, I can't draw anything. Where should I start to learn how to draw?

Hmm…I don’t really know how to answer this. I guess just start drawing. Draw every day as much as you can, and draw from life! Drawing from life is so important! And try doing gesture drawings. They’re great for loosening up and building a good understand of the body and it’s range of motion.

Here’s a website I use to practice gesture drawing: http://www.quickposes.com/pages/timed  They even let you review the poses you saw after the session, which I think is super helpful.

Also I really recommend reading Will Eisner’s instructional books. I read them not too long ago, and they are fantastic and full of all kinds of helpful stuff!

Well, I don’t really know what else to say, so I hoped this helped some ´・ᴗ・`
